Why don’t people realise how important this little moment is, considering Sherlock is supposed to be so ‘awfully clever’?
But he took Sherlock’s cup out of Sherlock’s hand. So obviously the cup was for Sherlock, who is right-handed.
Not to mention, why would Sherlock make it easy for him? Of course he knows he’s left-handed, that’s the point. It’s a little nudge. It’s awesome because above everything, above the whole fall, and all the plotting, more than anything these two love to needle each other—and not in the way Sherlock and Mycroft have their sibling spats and love to push each other’s buttons—and really is there ANYTHING ELSE BETTER TO WATCH than Moriarty, little shit that he is, doing all these little things to irritate Sherlock, and Sherlock doing it right back.
Also, Sherlock switches hands occasionally. I suspect it might just be for filming purposes, it looks better to have a person holding a gun in their right hand if you’re filming them on the left so they aren’t blocked by their arm, but he’s not really consistent with what side he uses for things like guns. So uh, there’s that.
